Sohag University Hospitals Successfully Remove a Rare Pancreatic Tumor Weighing More Than 15 Kilograms

The medical team at the Department of General Surgery, Oncology, and Endoscopy at Sohag University Hospitals successfully performed a highly complex surgical procedure to remove a rare giant pancreatic tumor from a 60-year-old woman, marking another significant medical achievement for the university hospitals.

According to the medical team, the tumor measured approximately 20 × 22 cm and weighed more than 15 kilograms, requiring a comprehensive treatment plan and a meticulously planned surgical intervention using the latest medical technologies to ensure complete tumor removal while preserving the patient's safety.

The university hospitals' administration stated that the patient underwent all necessary diagnostic examinations and imaging studies prior to surgery. The case was managed by a multidisciplinary medical team, and the operation was completed successfully. The patient's condition remained stable following the procedure, and she was discharged from the hospital after making a full recovery.
