Minister of Higher Education Inspects Construction Works of the New Campus of the French Private University in Shorouk City Affirms Commitment to Completion as Scheduled and Welcoming Students in September 2026

Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inspected the progress of construction works at the new campus of the French Private University in Egypt, located in Shorouk City. The visit was attended by Mr. Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees; H.E. Éric Chevallier, French Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt; Eng. Khaled Mady, Chairman of Wadi El Nile Contracting Company; Dr. Hany Madkour, Assistant Minister for National Projects; Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister and Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector; along with a number of ministry and university officials, and representatives of the engineering company.

During the visit, the Minister reviewed the on-site implementation rates and examined the executive status of various construction works. He stressed the importance of full adherence to the established timelines to ensure the completion of the first phase of the project in accordance with the highest quality standards, and to prepare for welcoming students at the beginning of the academic year in September 2026.

The Minister also emphasized that the French Private University in Egypt represents a distinguished model of academic cooperation between Egypt and France, contributing to the State’s plans to develop the higher education system and strengthen international partnerships.

For his part, Mr. Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour expressed his sincere appreciation to the Minister for visiting the new campus site and closely following up on the progress of work, noting that the visit provides strong motivation to all those involved in the project.

He added that the Minister’s continuous follow-up reflects the State’s commitment to completing this academic edifice on schedule, ensuring its readiness to receive students starting next September. He also praised the efforts of Wadi El Nile Contracting Company and all engineering teams involved in the implementation.

Dr. Mohamed Roshdy, President of the French Private University in Egypt, expressed his deep appreciation for the Minister’s field visit to the new campus site, attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the French Ambassador. He noted that the Minister stressed the need to accelerate the pace of work and complete the first phase on time, affirming that these directives provide direct support to the implementation process.

He also commended the strong support provided by the Egyptian State and French partners for this project, which represents a pioneering model of Egyptian-French academic cooperation and reflects the depth of strategic relations between the two countries in higher education and scientific research.

H.E. Éric Chevallier, French Ambassador to Egypt, affirmed that the project is one of the most prominent examples of academic cooperation between Egypt and France and receives high-level attention and follow-up in both countries.

He added that the French Private University in Egypt marks an important step in strengthening educational and scientific partnerships, supporting innovation, and building the capacities of Egyptian youth, reaffirming France’s continued support for this ambitious project, which enhances bilateral cooperation in higher education.

The visit concluded with an emphasis on the importance of maintaining an accelerated pace of work to complete the project on schedule, reflecting the State’s vision to support international education and modern private universities, and reinforcing Egypt’s position as a leading regional hub for higher education.
