Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has departed for the Republic of Uzbekistan to participate in the First International Islamic Forum on Islamic Civilization, held under the theme "Islamic Civilization: A Path to Peace, Tolerance, and Enlightenment." The forum brings together ministers, senior officials, experts, scholars, and intellectuals from Egypt and a number of countries across the Islamic world.
Hosted by the Republic of Uzbekistan from July 7 to 11, 2026, the forum is being held across several Uzbek cities, including Tashkent, Samarkand, and Termez. Its program features a series of high-level scientific and cultural sessions examining the role of Islamic civilization in promoting the values of peace, tolerance, and enlightenment, fostering intercultural dialogue, preserving the Islamic scientific and cultural heritage, and linking this rich legacy to contemporary issues in education, knowledge, and sustainable development.
The forum is expected to welcome a distinguished gathering of ministers, heads and representatives of Islamic and international organizations and institutions, as well as leading experts and specialists in the fields of education, culture, thought, heritage, and Islamic civilization. This broad participation underscores the forum's significance as an international platform for dialogue and cooperation among countries of the Islamic world.
Egypt's participation reflects the country's ongoing commitment to strengthening Islamic and international cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture, particularly as Egypt currently chairs the General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). It also comes in light of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa's role as Chairman of the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, highlighting Egypt's active contribution to enhancing its presence in regional and international forums dedicated to Islamic civilization and its universal human values.
