Continuing Egypt’s Leadership and Trusted Role in the Islamic World…
Unanimous Renewal of the Arab Republic of Egypt’s Presidency of the General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) for a New Term
Within the framework of the 15th session of the General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), held in the city of Kazan in the Republic of Tatarstan, member states unanimously agreed to extend the presidency of the Arab Republic of Egypt over the General Conference for a new term.
This decision reflects renewed confidence in Egypt’s role within the framework of multilateral international cooperation, and in the presidency of the General Conference represented by Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture. The decision comes in recognition of the effective efforts exerted over the past four years, during which Egypt remained committed to supporting joint Islamic action and strengthening cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture.
The consensus also reflected the success of the coordination and follow-up efforts undertaken by the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, further reinforcing Egypt’s presence within the organization.
The member states also agreed on the composition of the General Conference Bureau, selecting Senegal as Vice-President of the General Conference and Maldives as Rapporteur of the General Conference.
