He emphasized the central role of Egyptian universities as a driving force for development.
The Minister noted that academic programs across the higher education system are currently under review by a specialized committee to ensure alignment with labor market requirements and various development sectors, particularly industry, which encompasses a wide range of productive fields.
He explained that the fair reflects a growing awareness of the importance of linking educational outcomes with labor market needs, as a key pillar of Egypt’s national strategy under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, aimed at building a knowledge-based economy and maximizing youth potential. He also highlighted the importance of partnerships between educational institutions, productive sectors, and government entities to prepare graduates equipped with both academic knowledge and practical and innovative skills.
The Minister also announced several initiatives, including a program titled “From University to Factory” targeting faculty members. He stressed that the Ministry welcomes all ideas and proposals from students, graduates, faculty, and the wider community, and will continue to fund applied research projects in cooperation with industry, while expanding technology valleys within universities.
Addressing students and graduates, he emphasized that career success is no longer based solely on academic degrees but increasingly depends on skills development and continuous learning, urging them to actively pursue training opportunities and represent their country with excellence.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed El-Ansary praised the fair as part of the state’s efforts to support youth empowerment in line with the Egypt Vision 2030 sustainable development strategy. Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek stated that the fair reflects the university’s commitment to an integrated education system that not only transfers knowledge but also transforms it into real opportunities that support development and future building.
He added that hosting around 130 companies and institutions and offering more than 5,000 training and employment opportunities is a strong indicator of employers’ confidence in Cairo University graduates and their ability to contribute effectively across economic sectors.
He emphasized that modern university performance indicators are no longer based solely on education and research quality, but also on graduate employability and readiness for the labor market. Accordingly, Cairo University prioritizes continuous curriculum development, interdisciplinary and applied programs, and stronger partnerships with industry and business sectors.
He also noted that the fair is not only a recruitment platform but a comprehensive training and capacity-building environment that allows students and graduates to interact with experts and gain practical skills. He further reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting and integrating students with disabilities by providing dedicated opportunities and programs.
