Dr. Abdel Aziz Qonsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, held a meeting to review the Ministry's media plan in preparation for the launch of the electronic coordination process for admission to public universities and institutes for the upcoming academic year. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed El-Gewishy, Acting Head of the Education Sector and Supervisor of the Coordination Office; Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, Media Advisor and Official Spokesperson of the Ministry; Dr. Ebtisam Tamim, Director General of the General Administration of the Media Office and Official Spokesperson; along with members of the media office team. The meeting took place at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
During the meeting, the Minister stressed the vital role of media in raising awareness among General Secondary Certificate (Thanaweya Amma) students and their parents by providing accurate and timely information that facilitates the electronic coordination process while countering rumors and misleading information that typically circulate during the various coordination stages.
The Minister reviewed the key components of the media plan, which include the preparation of press releases, awareness videos, infographics, and guidance materials, in addition to implementing media campaigns across the Ministry's official platforms. These efforts aim to explain the procedures and steps of the electronic coordination process, introduce students to accredited higher education institutions, and respond to the most common inquiries raised by students and parents.
The meeting also discussed several new media initiatives, including the production of short awareness videos and the launch of specialized communication series designed to correct misconceptions and address rumors. The plan further calls for expanding digital content throughout all stages of the coordination process to ensure awareness messages reach the widest possible audience of students and parents.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed El-Gewishy, Acting Head of the Education Sector and Supervisor of the Coordination Office, affirmed the readiness of both the Coordination Office and the electronic coordination system to begin the admission process. He noted that all technical and administrative preparations have been completed, and that computer laboratories at public universities are fully prepared to receive students and provide them with technical and advisory support throughout the coordination period.
Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry's Media Advisor and Official Spokesperson, explained that the media plan is designed to accompany every stage of the electronic coordination process through the continuous publication of official information, active engagement with students' and parents' inquiries, and the prompt response to rumors. He added that the plan employs a wide range of media formats and digital platforms to deliver awareness messages in a simple and effective manner.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister expressed his appreciation to the General Administration of the Media Office and the Official Spokesperson for their dedicated efforts in preparing the comprehensive media plan for the electronic coordination process. He praised the diversity of communication tools and materials included in the plan, emphasizing their role in raising awareness, providing accurate information, and supporting the Ministry's efforts to ensure the successful implementation of the electronic coordination process.
The Minister also extended his gratitude to journalists and higher education editors across various media organizations for their professional and constructive role in disseminating accurate information, implementing awareness campaigns, informing students and parents about the electronic coordination procedures, and providing objective coverage of the different stages of the process. He emphasized that these efforts contribute to enhancing public awareness of developments in the coordination system and reaffirm the media's role as a key partner in supporting higher education and scientific research in Egypt.
