Launch of the Second Phase of the Cooperation Project Between Beni Suef Technological University and KoreaTech University

In line with the directives of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to prioritize technological education as an essential path to supply the labor market with trained technical personnel, a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Beni Suef Technological University visited South Korea. This visit is part of the joint cooperation project between Beni Suef Technological University and KoreaTech University in South Korea, which is entering its second phase and will continue until 2028, according to the strategic plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched in March 2023 as part of Egypt's Vision 2030.

During the meeting, which included Dr. Ahmed El-Sabbagh, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Technological Education, Dr. Sherif Keshk, Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation, Dr. Jean Henry, President of Beni Suef Technological University, Dr. Medhat El-Hadek, President of East Port Said Technological University, Dr. Ali Abdel-Tawab, Dean of the Egyptian-Korean College at Beni Suef Technological University, and Dr. Ghada Tosson, Director of the University-Industry Link Center at Beni Suef Technological University, along with several leaders from KoreaTech University, both sides discussed ways to enhance and sustain cooperation between Beni Suef Technological University and KoreaTech University. They also explored the possibility of expanding the partnership base and initiating scientific and research collaboration projects between several Egyptian universities and KoreaTech University, as well as exchanging expertise in technological education.

The meeting included a presentation by the Egyptian delegation on the advancements in technological education in Egypt over recent years and the noticeable increase in the number of students enrolling in technological universities.

The Egyptian delegation also highlighted the efforts of the Egyptian state and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to elevate technological and vocational education and prepare graduates to meet the demands of the labor market. Additionally, they emphasized the signing of numerous cooperation protocols between Egyptian technological universities and local and international industrial and educational institutions.

On the other hand, the Egyptian delegation was briefed on South Korea's experience in technological education and skill development, which is considered one of the most successful international models contributing to the technological and economic advancement of South Korea.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields between the Egyptian and Korean sides.
