Minister of Higher Education Meets Kuwaiti Ambassador to Discuss Joint Cooperation

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, welcomed Mr. Ghanem Saqar Al-Ghanem, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways to enhance collaboration between the two countries in higher education and scientific research. The meeting took place at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, with the attendance of Dr. Sherif Saleh, Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector.
At the start of the meeting, Dr. Ashour emphasized the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries in various fields, particularly in education, culture, and research. He underscored the importance of continuing cooperation between Egyptian and Kuwaiti universities to enhance the educational and research systems in both countries and fulfill their peoples' aspirations for progress and prosperity.
Dr. Ashour noted that Egyptian universities are continually developing their programs and faculties to keep pace with the latest scientific and technological advancements. He highlighted the significant diversity within Egypt's higher education system, which includes government, private, national, and technological universities, as well as foreign university branches and institutes. This diversity enriches the options available to students and fosters positive competition among educational institutions, ultimately improving educational quality. He pointed out that some Egyptian universities have recently made significant leaps in global rankings, entering the top 50 worldwide in medical and agricultural specialties, reflecting their excellence and international competitiveness.
The Minister assured that the Ministry is fully prepared to provide all necessary support to Kuwaiti students studying at Egyptian universities, emphasizing the commitment to overcoming any challenges they may face and ensuring a conducive learning environment.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance joint cooperation in education and research, discussing the potential for joint projects and increasing training opportunities for Kuwaiti students in medical fields at Egyptian universities.
It was agreed to exchange expertise between Egyptian and Kuwaiti universities, establish joint programs, and conduct scientific research beneficial to both countries. Additionally, the possibility of leveraging Egyptian experience to establish branches of prestigious foreign universities in Kuwait was explored.
Dr. Ashour extended an invitation to the Kuwaiti Minister of Higher Education to visit Egypt to strengthen scientific and academic collaboration between the two countries, get acquainted with the Egyptian higher education system, and explore ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly renewable energy, water, and preparing Kuwaiti nationals to meet the needs of the Kuwaiti job market.
In response, the Kuwaiti Ambassador expressed admiration for the remarkable progress in Egypt's higher education system, commending the efforts to elevate educational and research standards. He reaffirmed the strong fraternal ties between Egypt and Kuwait, as evidenced by the increasing number of Kuwaiti students studying in Egyptian universities. This reflects Kuwait's high regard for Egyptian education. He noted that Kuwait is working to develop its educational system to align with labor market requirements and is keen on aligning perspectives with Egypt to ensure Kuwaiti students receive the best possible educational experience.
