The Supreme Council for Graduate Studies and Research Holds Its Regular Meeting

The Supreme Council for Graduate Studies and Research held its regular meeting, chaired by Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, with the attendance of several university presidents and vice presidents for graduate studies and research, who are members of the council, at Benha University.

At the start of the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Refaat thanked the Benha University community for hosting the council's meeting, praising the university's distinguished educational and research achievements in recent times.

The council reviewed several important topics, most notably the adoption of a report on a comprehensive work plan for cooperation with BRICS countries, recognizing the importance of enhancing collaboration and partnerships with BRICS nations across various fields.

The council also approved a report on the pathways for the scientific output of faculty members submitted for academic titles (Associate Professor/Professor), in light of rapid developments in scientific research, interdisciplinary programs, the introduction of new specializations, as well as joint specializations between academic departments.

The council agreed on a report that includes recommendations to facilitate the admission process for Libyan students sent for graduate studies at Egyptian universities, emphasizing the importance of ongoing communication and coordination with the Libyan side to establish effective implementation mechanisms.

Additionally, the council approved the recommendations of the report prepared by the Committee on Industrial Localization, emphasizing the need for continuous coordination with all relevant entities to implement the recommendations.

The council also took note of reports presented by universities regarding their efforts to measure and evaluate the industrial impact of their research and innovation activities.

The council recommended that universities refrain from contracting to purchase digital content for curricula that are freely available on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank platform, to maximize the use of available resources and avoid incurring additional costs for similar content.
