Ministry of Higher Education Hosts the Fourth Session of the Joint Committee on Education and Higher Education Cooperation between Egypt and Kuwait

The fourth session of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Educational Committee was held at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the New Administrative Capital, reflecting the close brotherly relations and cooperation between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Kuwait, and aiming to enhance joint efforts in the field of education and higher education.

The fourth session was chaired by Egyptian Ambassador Dr. Mohamed El-Badri, Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs, and Kuwaiti Ambassador Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Baker, Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs. The meeting was attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Osama Shaltout, Dr. Sherif Saleh, Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hala Abdel-Salam, Head of the General Education Sector at the Ministry of Education, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Egypt Ghanem Saqr, Mrs. Taha Rashid Al-Nasser, Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs, Ms. Lamia Abdulaziz Al-Mulhim, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Kuwait, Dr. Hatem Ali, Director General of the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance, and a number of representatives from both embassies and relevant ministries.

At the beginning of the meeting, the two sides reviewed the executive actions agreed upon during the third session of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Educational Committee, which was held in Kuwait in November 2023.

The committee discussed several topics related to pre-university education, higher education, and student exchange between the two countries.

The Egyptian side presented the support and care provided to international students through the "Study in Egypt" platform and the "EGYAID" educational tourism initiative. The Kuwaiti side expressed interest and admiration for Egypt's efforts in this regard.

The Egyptian side proposed a visit to Cairo to discuss aspects of cooperation and joint activities in various fields at the university and scientific research levels, and to exchange international academic programs within Kuwaiti universities.

The committee members emphasized the need for cooperation in vocational training to enhance students' skills and levels.

The Egyptian side extended an invitation to the Kuwaiti side to learn about the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, especially in light of the current collaboration to launch the Arab Egyptian Knowledge Bank and link it with Arab universities. They also expressed readiness for the Knowledge Bank team to visit Kuwait and meet with officials to explore linking it with university libraries.

Both sides agreed to exchange international Dual Degree programs within Kuwaiti universities, as well as conduct joint workshops and training programs to maximize benefits for students from both countries through student exchange programs and faculty exchanges, contributing to closer ties between students of both nations. They also agreed on the Kuwaiti side's visit to the Nile International Schools in Egypt to review their curricula, operational systems, and to provide models of educational curricula for different academic years for study. Additionally, they aimed to explore new specialties for exchanging expertise and discuss mechanisms for cooperation in applied scientific research and its linkage with joint manufacturing between the two countries to support industrial advancement.

Both sides praised the positive atmosphere of the committee's work, characterized by constructive dialogue and a spirit of understanding and responsibility, reflecting the distinguished relations between the two countries.
