Minister of Higher Education Checks on Examination Committees at Cairo and Ain Shams Universities
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, visited Ain Shams and Cairo Universities this morning, accompanied by Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, and Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khosht, President of Cairo University and leaderships of the two universities, as well as a group of media professionals.
The minister made an inspection tour of the examination committees in the faculties of dentistry, pharmacy, arts and science at Ain Shams University and the Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al-Aini at Cairo University. He stressed the necessity of regular sterilization operations, and checked on distancing between each student during the first semester exams.
During his tour, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar checked on all precautionary and preventive measures that were agreed upon during the last meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, and directed that all violators of the precautionary and preventive measures should be punished immediately.
The minister was keen to see that the temperature of students was measured before entering the university campus and that they were wearing a medical mask. He stressed the need for all faculty members, workers and students to adhere to precautionary measures and to the rules of social distancing.
Dr. Khaled Abdul-Ghaffar had a friendly dialogue with a number of students and checked on their readiness for exams and start of the second semester.
The minister commended during his tour the commitment to rules of social distancing and to all precautionary and preventive measures to avoid the spread of the new Corona virus.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar directed that the faculty members, their assistants and working staff should be committed to the announced schedules of faculties, to ensure the smooth conduct of the first semester examinations and the educational process. He stressed the activation of the role of crisis committees of universities to follow up all procedures and ensure the safety of students, faculty and working staff.
