Minister of Higher Education Chairs Meeting of ‎Supreme Council of University Hospitals

 The Supreme Council of University Hospitals held on Thursday via video conference a meeting headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and attended by Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Secretary of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, and members of the Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister expressed his appreciation and pride for the tremendous efforts made by the medical staff working in university hospitals over the past period, wishing safety for all medical workers, including doctors, nursing staff, and administrators who deal with Corona virus patients.

 Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that university hospitals should prepare for the return of studies, and all preventive and precautionary medical needs and supplies as well as all necessary medicines should be provided to university hospitals with a view to providing a better health service to all students, faculty members and workers suffering Coronavirus or other diseases.

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar directed that university hospitals should be always on high alert  to confront the Coronavirus, the  accommodating capacity of isolation hospitals should be increased at any time to respond to the epidemiological spread rates of the virus, and in coordination with the Ministry of Health through the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, vaccination should be administered to medical teams working in isolation hospitals as a first priority, then to members of health teams in Egyptian universities.

 The minister also pointed out the importance of providing all medical supplies, medicines and strategic oxygen reserves to all university hospitals.
